NZIIIIIHHHHH LEMOU! This is our shout out.
Created on June 4th, 2011, Lemou Bafou USA is a cultural organization that will be 12 years old in a couple of weeks (June 4th, 2023)
Our main objective is the cultural development and the wellbeing of the Bafou people in the US as well as those left in Bafou, Dschang, Menoua Division in the Western Region of Cameroon.
As the acting president of Lemou Bafou USA, I am committed (with the help of the board) to sharing the history of Bafou; promoting and practicing the traditional dances of Bafou; teaching our mother tongue which is Yemba. We also take into consideration our moral values as we enhance our social development through mutual aid and solidarity. Education, health, and environmental protection are also on our agenda.
This movement started with less than 20 members. Today, we are very proud of our 127 and counting members. Our members are scattered all over the US with our headquarters in Maryland. Our motto is “Believe in Lemou Bafou USA because it is a religion”.
Let me take this opportunity to thank all the members of Lemou Bafou USA who have relentlessly put all effort into making this organization grow stronger and stronger every single day.
Let’s keep our faith in the success of our Village Bafou.
